Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and edate.cc (“we”, “us”) for using the edate.cc website and services. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use edate.cc.

1. Who can use edate.cc

• You must be at least 18 years old. We block accounts that give an under-18 date of birth and remove accounts we believe belong to minors.
• You must be able to form a binding agreement where you live and must not be barred from using the service by law.
• You need a Discord account to sign in. edate.cc is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord Inc.
• One account per person. Don't create accounts for someone else or after we have banned you.

2. Your account

You're responsible for what happens on your account and for keeping your Discord login secure. The information you give us, including your date of birth, must be accurate. Lying about your age is a serious breach of these terms.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post (profile text, images, messages). You give us a limited licence to store, display and process it only to run edate.cc — for example, showing your profile to eligible members and delivering your messages. You must have the right to post everything you upload. Don't upload other people's photos, copyrighted art you aren't allowed to use, or anything that breaks our Community Guidelines.

4. What's not allowed

• Nudity or sexually explicit images, unsolicited sexual messages, or offering or requesting sexual services of any kind, paid or unpaid. Clothed, suggestive photos are allowed.
• Harassment, threats, hate, or content that targets someone for who they are.
• Scams, spam, advertising, soliciting money or gifts, or recruiting for other services.
• Impersonation or catfishing, including pretending to be a real person or using their images.
• Anything involving minors in a romantic or sexual context, in any form.
• Scraping, automated access, bypassing our security or rate limits, or interfering with the service.

5. Safety

We provide tools to block and report, and we review reports, but we can't run criminal background checks and we can't guarantee anyone's identity, age or intentions. Use your judgement when sharing personal information or meeting anyone. See the Safety Center.

6. Moderation and termination

We may remove content, suspend or ban accounts that break these terms or put people at risk. Where it's safe to do so we'll tell you why, and you can appeal by contacting support. You can delete your account at any time from Settings.

Moderators may review your conversations. To keep edate.cc safe, our moderators may read conversations on edate.cc(including messages and images) when a conversation or member has been reported, or when we have a reasonable suspicion of a breach of these terms or our Community Guidelines — for example harassment, scams, spam, threats or an underage member. Moderators must record a reason before opening any conversation, and every review is logged. Messages in the Lounge are public to all members and may be moderated at any time. Don't share anything on edate.cc you wouldn't want a moderator to see.

7. Paid features

Liking, matching, messaging and the Lounge are free and will stay free. edate+ is an optional subscription that adds features and cosmetic profile options. Boosts are optional one-time purchases. Neither ever changes who can see or match with you.

• Price. edate+ costs $5.99 per month or $47.99 per year (plus any applicable tax), billed in advance through our payment provider, Stripe.
• Free trial. New members can start a one-day free trial once. A payment card is required. Unless you cancel before the 24 hours are up, your subscription starts and your card is charged automatically at the end of the trial.
• Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year at the then-current price until you cancel. We'll tell you before any price change.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time from edate+ → Manage subscription. You keep edate+ until the end of the period you've paid for; cancelling during the trial means you're not charged. Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn't refund the current period.
• Boosts. A boost moves your profile closer to the front of Discover for 30 minutes, but only for members whose preferences already match yours, and boosted profiles are limited to a share of anyone's feed. Packs are a one-time payment (1 for $2.99, 3 for $6.99, 10 for $17.99, plus any applicable tax). Unused boosts don't expire. We don't promise any number of views, likes or matches. A boost you stop early still counts as used. If your account is suspended or banned for breaking these terms, unused boosts are forfeited.
• All sales are final. Every purchase (edate+ subscriptions and renewals, including the first charge after a trial, and boost packs) is non-refundable, in whole or in part. That includes unused time on a subscription, unused or stopped boosts, a change of mind, not getting the matches you hoped for, and accounts closed, suspended or banned. Digital features start the moment you pay, and by paying you ask us to start them straight away and accept that you lose any right to cancel for a refund once they have. This doesn't affect rights the law gives you that can't be waived, for example if something you paid for doesn't work and we can't fix it.
• Chargebacks. If you dispute a payment with your bank instead of contacting us, we may suspend the account while it's resolved, and remove what the disputed payment bought.
• Ending. When edate+ ends, your profile returns to the standard look. Nothing is deleted.

8. Disclaimers and liability

edate.cc is provided “as is” while in development. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses or for the conduct of other members. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.

9. Changes

We'll tell you about material changes to these terms before they take effect. Continuing to use edate.cc afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
